- Steve Hartnett
- Steve Hartnett is a local DFW investor and restauranteur. Founder of Fox and Hound and Cool River, he currently runs Bob’s Steak and Chop House and Flips Patio Grill in Grapevine and Fort Worth. While restaurants may be where he started, his day to day routine consists of actively trading the financial markets.
As a pioneer in index futures, Steve has built a small investment fund consisting of family and friends. Ever since the first stock index future was traded, Steve has had an open position one way or another in the futures market.
This experience is invaluable, and while his fund may be small, The Hartnett Group’s returns are anything but. In the 30 or so years since he opened, Steve has only had 2 losing years. 2008 was one of those years, but even in a losing year the fund was in the top 5% of all hedge funds.
Apart from investing; Steve is an active philanthropist, avid golfer, and exotic car enthusiast. Steve’s relaxed demeanor permeates everything he does, whether he's having a steak at Bob’s or enjoying a cold beer at a Cowboys game.
